Chromed Out Picks - Ararat Shrine Temple
Ararat Shrine Restaurant and Banquet Facility in Kansas City, Missouri
Here is a very cool and different pick from Chromed Out magazine especially if you like more of an exclusive member or country club atmosphere. The Ararat Shrine’s restaurant and bar is officially open to the public. It’s like getting the membership benefits without being a member. I don’t think this is because of a shortage in members, because there are over 6,500 Shrine members in the greater Kansas City area alone. I think it’s because they have an important mission in supporting the burn units and Shriner Hospitals and they open that support up to the public. So the Shrine’s restaurant and bar has not only a good purpose but is a great deal.
For example, every Friday night is Steak Night. You can get a 10 ounce bacon wrapped filet dinner for $10.00, or a 14 ounce T-Bone steak dinner for $12.95, or a 7 ounce bacon wrapped turkey steak dinner for $11.95…awesome deals! The restaurant is also known for their big handmade tenderloins, Reuben’s, and chicken wings. The Restaurant and bar is open Monday thru Saturday 3:00 till 11:00 pm…no reservations necessary.
The bar and restaurant are sort of in the same place, however separated by tablecloths and an imaginary line. The bar has no neon lights or mounds of beer and liquor signage; in fact they have recently remodeled the area to make it even more “Country Clubbish”. What makes it a bar however is drinks and drink specials. Daily beer and bucket specials from 3 till 7 along with good drink prices all the time makes it worth stopping by on a regular basis.
The Ararat Shrine Restaurant is definitely biker friendly. Every other Friday night is Bike Night at the Ararat Shrine bar with an open patio full service bar (weather permitting) and specials for the bikers. A lot of our readers have been to the Ararat Shrine Bike night and said it was a good time.
The Ararat Shrine is known for its special events from concerts to cage fighting. On October 23rd the famous 50’s rockers Krazy Kats will be performing and on October 30th is the big Shrine Halloween Party. The Ararat Shrine, located just off I-435 near Eastwood Trafficway in Kansas City, Missouri, has been around for many years. I can remember 25 years ago partying with my Shriner friends at special music events or at the old bar having a hoot. The tradition still lives on and BJ is making it even more accessible.
So stop by this biker friendly must stop biker shop when looking for good atmosphere, food, drinks, and banquet needs or just tell people to meet you at the Club.
