This Chromed Out Pick is a new business and a new friend to the Chromed Out Magazine family. Harleys and Horses’ Grand Opening is scheduled for October 9, 2009. The core business is restaurant, bar and entertainment staged in a horse backed "Wild West" meets "Modern Day Cowboy" riding hot iron theme.  The Grand Opening festivities will include live music, live remote with Skid Rodie from 3 – 7, “Eat The Hog” 5lb cheeseburger eat off, Giveaways, DJ and basically an all out launching bash.

I was invited to stop by the pre-opening construction and witness the quality and craftsmanship going into the building renovation and facilitation. The Location (across the highway  from Worlds of Fun) has easy on and off highway access, enormous parking and sufficient usable interior square footage to accommodate large groups, yet not too big where one could get lost.  

Jeff and Donna Knold are the proprietors and quite possibly may be the best suited new restaurant owners that I have encountered in many years.  Jeff’s background in food and beverage management perfectly complements his perception of what a good eating and drinking establishment should offer.   Donna brings a solid graphic design and marketing element to the team.  Generally, when you have that much talent at the top, the less the business has to farm out and should result in a better value to the customer.  Either way, I believe their target is to deliver a killer entertainment and dining experience. 

Harleys and Horses’ believe in serving only fresh and tasty food made from scratch.  The kitchen and food preparation service is run by twenty-five year veteran chef Jesse Vega.  Jesse assures there will be no injected beef or chemically treated food in his kitchen.  As the head chef of Harleys and Horses, Jesse is committed to preparing only quality and well seasoned food for his customers.

Harleys and Horses’ stage will be providing an entertainment schedule to include bands, Karaoke, open mic, DJ’s and special event line-ups.  The blues is my personal favorite and Harleys and Horses will be hosting a Tuesday Blues and Burgers Night  in "Mid-West" tradition.  Blues and Burger Night will feature a cast of noted musical blues suspects with the emphasis on “you never know who‘s going to stop by”.  Don’t forget the burger deals that make it worth coming out a little early.

This Chromed Out Pick offers great, food, entertainment, people, location and most importantly a biker friendly must stop shop.
